This year's August full moon brings something different. Where its light falls upon the exhibits of the Archaeological Museum of Serifos, it will also reveal memory to us, gently laying its veil over us and breathing life into a story told through the bodies and souls of everyone present.

A story that holds centuries and also single moments, deeply personal and at the same time collective, coming alive inside the Archaeological Museum and shaped by performers and audience for one unique time only, just like the August full moon — arriving at an unexpected contemporary ode to the art of living.

The play unfolds in a space, an old artist's atelier, where a statue with a human soul comes to life to say everything it never said to anyone. There once lived Aliki, a well-known radio producer who hosted her show in that very place, and who was the statue's beloved, real-life companion.

A statue and the charged atmosphere of the August full moon create the ideal condition for a revelatory artistic night through theatrical storytelling in dialogue with the audience.

An unexpected surprise at the end embodies the very meaning of theatrical communion. A theatrical monologue with universal, essential, elemental dimensions, as it addresses the greatest question of the 21st century: everyday life, life in the present, in all its extensions and endings.

"Ékho Phoné", written and directed by Pavlos Addimando, is a timely journey into memory, in a space between the present and the past. A monologue that gives a voice to the invisible members of society. It is performed by Denia Mimerini (in a double role), who brings to the stage the power of personal narration and the need for recognition in a society tested by alienation and the lack of real connection. Music, dance, tears, laughter, fragility and strength saturate the work exactly as they do life itself — at times a dark and at times a blazing disco ball, as it appears in the play. Within this whirl, through the radio show happening live on stage and in open dialogue with the audience, who are baptised as "listeners", Pavlos Addimando raises the cry and the call for life. The original music is composed by Sotiris Mytakidis.
